Americans for Prosperity-Florida Applauds Governor Ron DeSantis on His Budget Recommendations
Tallahassee, FL—Americans for Prosperity-Florida (AFP-FL) State Director Skylar Zander today issued the following statement applauding Governor Ron DeSantis’ budget recommendations:
“Governor DeSantis’ strong commitment to fiscal responsibility and economic growth shines through in his budget recommendations, which put the taxpayers’ interests first. For example, his proposal to eliminate the business rent tax will make Florida more competitive for businesses, which in turn will strengthen our state’s economy and benefit everyone. By reducing overall spending while prioritizing key investments, this budget will ensure continued economic opportunity for all Floridians. We also applaud the Governor for prioritizing pay increases for first responders rather than yielding to misguided calls to reinstate an automatic cost-of-living adjustment for all Florida Retirement System employees. Additionally, by strengthening reserves and paying down state debt, this budget reinforces Florida’s leadership in providing responsible governance. Americans for Prosperity-Florida looks forward to working with Governor DeSantis to advance policies that promote prosperity and protect taxpayers.”
